FAQ
What's the difference between a supplier and a lab?
A supplier is the source selling the compound (a pharmacy, reseller, etc.). A lab is the independent analytical laboratory that performs the chromatograph testing. Suppliers get rated based on their test results; labs do not.
What is a chromatograph?
A chromatograph is the output of chromatography testing (typically HPLC). It shows peaks corresponding to the compounds present in a sample, allowing analysts to determine the identity and concentration of substances.
What does the assay percentage mean?
The assay is calculated as (actual value / expected value) × 100. An assay of 100% means the sample perfectly matches its labeled concentration. Values between 90-110% are generally considered acceptable.
What is mg/mL?
Milligrams per milliliter — this is the standard unit for measuring the concentration of a compound dissolved in a solution (e.g., an injectable).
How are suppliers rated?
Suppliers go through a community review process. A supplier starts as 'new' and progresses through status levels based on the consistency and accuracy of their product's test results over time.
Can I submit test results?
Test results are entered by site admins after verification. If you have results you'd like to contribute, reach out through the community channels.
Why did a test fail?
A test is marked as failed when the actual concentration deviates significantly from the expected value, or when other issues are identified (contamination, wrong compound, etc.). Check the individual test notes for details.
Are these results representative of an entire batch?
Each test result represents a single sample. While it can indicate the quality of a batch, it cannot guarantee that every unit in that batch is identical. Multiple tests from the same supplier/batch provide more confidence.
How often is the site updated?
Results are added as they become available. Check the header for the last update date.
